How to redeem the code
- Open Steam and click 'Add a Game' in the bottom left corner.
- Choose 'Activate a Product on Steam' and enter the key.
- Without the client, use store.steampowered.com/account/registerkey.
Region and account
Steam checks the country on your account rather than where you are sitting. A key for another region stays inactive even while you are physically in that region.
A free Steam account is enough. The title stays tied to that account afterwards and cannot be moved to a different one.
A common pitfall
Some Steam titles start a second launcher on top, such as Ubisoft Connect or the EA app. The product description says whether that applies.
