How to redeem your Xbox Series X|S key step by step, with the region rules, the account it binds to, and the pitfall that catches most buyers out.
How to redeem the code
- On the Series X or Series S, open the Store and choose 'Redeem'.
- Enter the code and start the download.
- The Xbox mobile app redeems the same code.
Region and account
As on every Xbox, the country on the Microsoft account decides. A code from another region stays locked on new hardware too.
A Microsoft account is enough. Smart Delivery gives you the edition matching your console automatically on many titles.
A common pitfall
An Xbox One edition runs on Series X and S. The other way round, a Series only edition will not start on an Xbox One.
